Roman Shade Blinds

One last option in Allen Roth blinds is the Roman shade. They are a unique choice among the family of window coverings. These are splendid blinds composed of a single piece of fabric, which moves up and down as one unit in your window. Styles include classic, cellular, and cassette styles. I personally prefer the crisp look of the cassette and cellular styles. The clean look of the Roman shades makes a huge statement in our dining room. And we love how the shades move as one piece. Consequently, that means no slats to clean—just vacuum occasionally with your attachment. The color and fabric choices are amazing! We love the simplicity and clean lines of these lovely blinds.

  1. Purchased two cellular shades from Lowe’s. One of the shades didn’t have the screws or clear plastic handle to pull the shade open and closed. Quality help must be hard to find. I was able to substitute the screws that were missing, but I still need the plastic handle.

  3. Hello. We purchased some grey cordless cellular shades. We love them but one did not come with the plastic pull. We checked at Lowe’s but they said they could not get one for us. Is it possible to get one directly from you?

  5. We purchased many Allen and Roth shades from Lowes when we built our house 5 years ago. One of the 3 blackout shades doesn’t work anymore and needs to be replaced but they are no longer making them the same, so in order for them to look the same, all need to be replaced. DO NOT buy these! They don’t last! Go with a company that have been in business for a long time or have a decent warranty.

  6. Recently purchased four, 1 1/2 inch Cordless Blackout cellular shades. Two of the boxes had already been opened. One was missing a mounting screw that I was able to replace but one was missing the small plastic endcap found on the bottom of the shade. How can I get another one? The bottom of the shade slides and needs the endcap.

  8. I just tried to purchase (9) pairs of your feaux wood blinds from LOWEs only to be toLd that they will not cut A & R blinds. Only Levelor, are they fazing you’re brand out or they just trying to force you to buy more 3 pensive Levelor? I will buy which brand I can get cut to width. No one carries blinds in every single size as needed. Length I have done before, no problem.

    • You can trim allen-roth blinds at home. I’ve done it a few times. Just be sure to trim equal amounts off both ends so they look even, and don’t trim so much that you get anywhere near the string mechanism. Before you cut, tape the area to be cut (tightly) so the blind won’t fray or fly all over the place when the blade hits it. A saw with a rotary blade gives a much smother cut than a blade going back and forth.

  9. I bought some Allen & Roth white cordless cellular shades (35 x 72) to fit my 34.5 in x 60 in window, planning to cut them down to width. But in these shades’ instructions, I saw nothing about cutting them to fit the width of the window. I was sure I had seen such instructions in some I had purchased earlier. Is it possible to cut these down on a power miter saw?

  10. I purchased Allen+Roth three 2″ faux wood blinds for two bedrooms. Installation was a nightmare. I had to have a contractor come in to do it. In the first bedroom, the screws that hold the headrail bracket are in the way of placing the headrail, no matter where you place them. In order to get around the screw heads, he had to shave 3/16 inch off the headrail. The blinds themselves are perfect length. The next problem is that these are cordless lift style blinds, but the clips for pulling the blinds down do not fit the bottom rail. The tolerance is too tight. Even applying a bit of soap did not work. So I cannot use the clips.

On another blind, again the screws were in the way, and the headrail had to be shaved. These are corded blinds, to no ill-fitting clips.

I like the look of the product once the blinds were installed, but the installation process was difficult, and I have no little handles pull the cordless blinds down.

    Very sloppy.

  11. The bottom bar on my blinds it’s not hanging level. Is there a way to adjust that? It’s about an inch lower on the left than it is on there right.

  12. The cordless room darkening blinds are terrible. Especially if you have a larger window. I bought my new house allen roth blinds. The larger window blinds do not close all the way.the either let in too much light or people can still see in. The smaller windows are able to close but they lift up on one side and are crooked. Also the slates are so flimsy that they drop on both sides. $1,500 wasted.

    • I just purchased a Allen &Roth Cordless Cellular Shade, 32in, white, item #0159568 from Lowe’s in Latham NY,brought it to my house in Averill Park, NY, about 40 miles away. Opened the box to install it and found that there were no installation instructions in the box. Can you save me a trip back to the store and email me a copy of the instructions?

      Thank you.

  13. Installed two Blackout shades back in December 2019. Turns out one shade had a manufacturing defect, the interior black coating was missing in spots and looked terrible during the day. After living with this for a few days we decided to change t a light filtering shade as two Blackout shades was too dark. Sure enough the light filtering shade was defective (the shade was cut in several places). Thought this would be an easy process, wrong!! The 29″ x 64″ shades weren’t stocked at LOWES so ordered the shades qty-3 of the light filtering type. Amazing they changed the Qty to 2 without notifying me. Should have realized anything that looks repacked would be a headache. Still not finished.

  16. Needed 23″ wide cordless blinds for two windows 46″ long. Lowe’s stock was either too short (42″) or too long (64″). Instructions say not to remove more than five slats; I need to remove 10 from the 64″. What would happen if I removed the 10 in the same manner as instructions say to remove 5? What about shortening the vertical lift cord when blinds are fully extended? Can I do that without negatively altering the blind lift mechanism?

  18. The correct Allen + Roth Lighting Customer Service telephone # is 1-866-439-9800 (not 800). 1-800-554-6504 is a telephone # for Kissler who is a manufacturer for some of Allen + Roth light fixtures. The name Allen + Roth is owned by Lowe’s.

  20. I am unhappy with the 2in false wood blinds we purchased. When we put them up some of the slats were curved up and down. I thought they would strait hen out but so far they look bad. We purchased over 10 blinds. What can be done to fix the slats? Donna Fitzwater phone 615-392-8360 [email protected]

  22. I need to find your old style of cellular shades. I did my entire house in those, with the approximately 1″ shade zig zag. I’ve just done a remodel, and have added some windows in an addition. I spent over $800 in blinds at Lowes to get these, and I can not find any of the blinds that match the ones I have. They all have these smaller half the size dual cellular things that do not go with my home at all. I don’t like the look of them, and would like to get the remaining 2 for my home. I just need to know where I can get them.

  25. hi, I purchased 2 sets of the 2 inch faux wood blinds in white, not realizing that they didn’t have the side valence pieces like the one I purchased for my bathroom by your company, it didn’t say on the box they were for inside window installation, I had to install them on the outside, I would like to know if I can purchase parts I would need 4 side pieces and 4 new decorative pieces that attach the side to the front of the valance.
    thank you

    • Blinds are great. Easy install.

One of was missing wand due to pilfer. No spares in store.

Girl on 877 # was excellent.

      But, 2 suggestions.

      1. Every shipment of blinds ought to include a few spares.

      2. Come up with a wand overlay with about 1″ diameter for people with grip issues.

      Thx

  29. I went to Lowes to try to get replacement clips for blind valance. I was told to call the phone number on the blinds. I could not find a phone number. Jennifer at Lowes was very rude and actually yelled at me. I do not want to go back to Lowes, but do not know how to get the blind clips for my blinds. Can you help?

  30. I am in need of replacement mechanism that operates the tilt function on these blinds. We have robbed them from every possible blind that isn’t changed. We are tired of buying new blinds $45 to $60 per blinds. Not even considering the otherwise good blinds going to the landfill. Will you sell me this part and how much?
